Alex Johnston designs pieces that create a focal point, while at the same time do not overwhelm the wearer, ensuring a nice balance. She likes attractiveness and practicality in the design that can be considered timeless and repeatedly useful.
Based in Ottawa, Ontario the flat front poncho is a practical item for spring, fall and winter, although she has been known to wear one on cooler summer evenings! Worn with the flat front it keeps the upper arms and back warm while still enabling you to function without feeling encumbered. Alex began crocheting this version in 2007 for her own use and it has been very popular with a wide segment of women for use in the home, car, office. We have all been in offices that are a tad too chilly, keep this in your drawer. Need a little something to wear when relaxing at home, throw this on. There are customers who take theirs to the yoga studio or wear it in their convertibles. If you have a parent who struggles with fasteners, this wrap is an easy on and off option. The uses are many. The Infinity scarves are all made in a loop, of the same warm, soft and easy care yarn as the ponchos. Full enough to keep you warm, but not overwhelm you, they are perfect for the cooler weather that comes your way!
Jewelry is Alexs first love. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets...she loves them all. Beginning in her teens she experimented and morphed through more than few mediums from beads, watercolour paper, fimo clay, leather, buttons and now back to beads. Her greatest enjoyment is blending colours and creating pieces that people love to wear.
Necessity is the mother of invention and thus, the Key-per for your keys and the Home Alone Tool were born. By not finding what Alex was looking for, she created what works for her. Alex hopes that you find it works for you, too!
